Statement:
I have struggled with anxiety and depression most of my life, and I make artwork that speaks to the daily attempt at seeking to belong in a community. I make utilitarian pottery because it is useful and helpful and I feel nesessary when my pots go out to live in the world and perform functions. I cover the surface with glazes that drip and bleed in order to bring color and happiness into my life, but also to let go of my control issues and allow the process and materials to create something beautiful.
